Only Light. Only Love.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. 

I'm really not trying to be political.  Everything seems to be about politics these days. Policies against this.  Policies for this.  Religion plays into all of these policies and that really needs to stop.  

If ALL of us could just be good human beings and not worry about things that are none of our business what a better place this would be.

Be the Light

This creation has been in my head for the past several days.  Today seemed like the perfect day to put it all together.  On the darkest of days we need to remember to "be the light".  And today is one of the darker days in our country's history.

 Door to Valhalla

Valhalla is a grand hall in Asgard, ruled by the god Odin.  It is the afterlife for warriors who die in battle where they feast, drink and fight each other.

One of my favorite things to photograph is doors. While touring the Marksburg Castle in Braubach, Germany I saw this door out of the corner of my eye.  Since it was in a restricted area I quickly stopped and snapped a picture.  It wasn't until much later that I saw all the light around the door and Valhalla came to mind.
